What is the Devil’s Favorite Tool?

THE DEVIL DECIDED to have a big yard sale.
Taking out all of his finest tools of deception and death, he priced and placed each one on a long table in his driveway.
They were each marked according to their value in his malevolent work.
There was hatred, envy, and jealousy all marked for sale. There was deceit, lust, lying, and pride with their appropriate price tags.
But, set over by itself, totally removed from the other instruments, was an unassuming, plain-looking tool. It was quite worn. In fact, it was the most worn of all the tools, and yet it had no price.
A customer sauntered up and began browsing through the tools. He picked up the tool without the price, looked it over, and casually asked the Devil, “Say, what’s the name of this tool?” With a shrewd sneer, the Devil boldly replied, “Ahh, my favorite tool. That’s the tool of discouragement.”
“But why doesn’t it have a price?” the customer inquired.
The Devil said, “Because that tool is the most powerful in my possession. I use it first to pry open a Christian’s heart, and then I can then use all of my other tools to completely break it down. It is my favorite tool, my most strategic – and therefore it is not for sale.”
The Bible reminds us, “And let us not grow weary while doing good, for in due season we shall reap if we do not lose heart” (Gal. 6:9).

INCARNATE – Do You Believe in the Big Bang?
ACCORDING TO MANY who do not believe in the Biblical account of creation, the universe came into existence through a “big bang…”
The Big Bang Theory is the dominant scientific theory about the origin of the universe. According to the big bang, the universe was “created” somewhere between 10 billion and 20 billion years ago from a cosmic explosion that hurled matter in all directions.
While I do not subscribe to this big bang, I do believe in a big bang.
However, this big bang has nothing to do with the beginning of the universe, but its end.
“But the day of the Lord will come as a thief in the night, in which the heavens will pass away with a great noise, and the elements will melt with fervent heat; both the earth and the works that are in it will be burned up” (2 Pet. 3:10).
So there you have it.
The Bible does indeed teach that here is a big bang.
The evolutionist has just missed the timing.
Rather than an historic event, the big bang is a certain, future event that will bring an end to the universe. Steve Higginbotham
