IT’S MY UNDERSTANDING that certain creatures can go for rather extended periods of time without food…
Certain BIRDS can go 9 days…
Some breeds of DOG can go 20 days…
Certain types of TURTLES can go 500 days…
Some SNAKES can actually go 800 days…
And, believe it or not, some species of INSECTS can go 12,000 days.
But sooner or later, all of these creature have to eat.
The same can also be said of man.
He requires sustenance, but he requires more than just bread for the body.
He must have bread for the soul.
Job said, “I have treasured the words of His (God’s) mouth more than my necessary food” (Job 23:12b).
